This course is suitable for personnel at all levels in the construction industry, street workers, service suppliers and those who control the work.

Course Content:

This highly practical course allows individuals to gain knowledge and confidence in using a CAT & Genny.  The requirements of HSG 47 Avoiding Danger for Underground Services will form the basis of this course.

Delegates will be made aware of the importance of establishing and following safe working practices incorporating the use of the CAT and Genny.  The course will delve into the benefits and limitations of the equipment and explore potential hazards with the emphasis on accident prevention.

Delegates will be made aware that the use of a CAT and Genny forms the core of a Permit to work (PTW) for breaking ground.

Outcomes:

Successful delegates will have satisfactorily demonstrated competence in using CAT & Genny.

Certificates awarded will be valid for 3 years.

Delegate Preparation:

There is no requirement for delegates to have any previous knowledge of CAT & Genny, meaning it is suitable for beginners. Delegates are advised to bring PPE and Hi-Viz jacket for the practical sessions.

Hot and cold drinks available when delivered at a Sanctus Training venue.
